Earth 3D Space Tour 1.1

There are some several things you are going to like about this FP Software Lab-developed screensaver for Windows and one thing that you may not like about it. Let’s start on a positive note, and going at it in a logical progression, check out the things you are going to like about Earth 3D Space Tour.

The first thing you are going to like is that getting the screensaver off the web and onto your computer will only take a moment since the download weighs in at 1.7MB. A 1.7Mb download will complete in a blink even if you have to contend with a less than spectacular internet connection. To my mind, it’s always nice when you don’t have to wait a long time for a download to complete.

The next thing you are going to like is that installing Earth 3D Space Tour on your Windows-powered PC is a straightforward process that goes along smoothly and rapidly. Speaking of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system, you can expect it to work with the old but popular Windows XP and the latest and greatest, Windows 7. I tested the screensaver out on a Windows XP and a Windows 7-powerec PC and it seemed to work fine.

The third thing you are going to like about Earth 3D Space Tour is that it looks quite good. The screensaver displays a photo-realistic and astronomically accurate 3D animation of Earth as viewed from outer space. You can make believe you are an alien in a flying saucer, looking at Earth from outer space, looking at the blue planet as it spins around.

Now here’s the thing that you may not like – Earth 3D Space Tour is not freeware, it is only free to try. In the unregistered version a floating window that tells you to register the screensaver appears and, well, floats around. It is truly annoying. What’s more annoying is that at close to $18, the registration fee is a bit on the steep side. Keep in mind that there are similar screensavers out there offered free of charge. They may not look as good as Earth 3D Space Tour, but they don’t ask for money either.
